Where store marketing usually goes wrong

A sale that happens in person needs to be measured like one

Treating a store like a checkout is where most of the confusion starts.

Clicks reported to a business that sells in person

A click report says little about who came in on Saturday.

Every location averaged together

One strong store can hide a weak one, and a blended number helps neither.

Promotions announced too late

A promotion that launches the day it starts has already lost its run-up.

The promo calendar

A promotion needs a run-up, not a launch day

Every promotion on the calendar gets the weeks it needs before it starts, and a fair reading after it ends, measured against the weeks around it.

How the marketing runs

Baseline, found, reached, promoted, counted

It starts with measurement, because nobody can show you a lift without first agreeing what normal looked like.

01

Baseline

Visit signals captured per location before anything changes: calls, directions, redemptions.

02

Found

Every Business Profile owned and optimised, so each location shows up when someone nearby searches.

03

Reached

Geo-targeted campaigns around each location, and seasonal promo drops from the Structure level.

04

Promoted

A seasonal promo calendar that briefs the creative and the social presence ahead of time.

05

Counted

Visit-signal lift per location, and on the Ecosystem level, loyalty flows that bring customers back.

What we report

Visit-signal lift, location by location, is the number we answer to

Nobody can trace every visitor to an ad, so we agree the signals that stand for a visit and report the lift against them.

When a location lags

If one location trails the others for a month, it gets its own local sprint before any budget moves between stores.

Your monthly report

By the 5th business day
1 Headline

Visit-signal lift per location against the baseline

2 The numbers

Calls, direction requests and redemptions, per location · Promotion lift against the weeks around it · Review volume and rating, per location

3 What we changed

The campaigns, listings and promotions we moved, location by location

4 What we learned

Which locations and offers moved people through the door, and which did not

5 Next month

The next promotions on the calendar and what each store needs before them

6 Flags

A location lagging the others, a listing problem, stock or staffing we should plan around

Six blocks, in this order, every month. The dashboard is live all month; the report interprets it.

The first 30 days

From the baseline to the first visit-signal read

The first thing we build is the measure. Everything after it is judged against that line.

01

Baseline per location

Calls, direction requests and footfall signals captured for every location before anything changes.
02

Listings owned

Business Profiles claimed, corrected and optimised for every location.
03

Radius targeting live

Geo campaigns open around each location, sized to how far people travel to you.
04

Proof agreed

The in-store redemption or proof mechanism is agreed with you, so offers can be counted.
05

Week 4: first read

The first visit-signal report, location by location, against the baseline.

Questions

What people ask about store visits

Yes. Moving up builds on the baseline and visit signals already in place, and every result is still read against the same starting point.

Not for every person. We capture the signals that stand for a visit before anything changes, and report the lift against that baseline, location by location.

An action that reliably comes before a visit: a call from your Business Profile, a request for directions, a store-locator tap, or an offer redeemed at the till. None of them counts every visitor, and together they show clearly whether the work is moving people towards your doors.

No. You choose which locations are covered, and each is reported on its own. Ecosystem is built for businesses that want every location covered.

It helps, but it is not required. Redemption codes and the signals above work without it. If you can share store sales, we read them beside the visit signals.

Manager access to your Business Profiles and ad accounts, not passwords. The list of locations to cover. And your approval of any in-store offer before it runs.
